Five Days of Literature, Conversations with Serbian and International Authors, Publishers, and Readers at Rajićeva Shopping Center

Belgrade, May 13–17, 2026

Belgrade will become the city that reads from May 13 to 17, as Rajićeva Shopping Center hosts the inaugural CITY READS – BOOK LOOK 2026 festival. Bringing together authors, publishers, and readers, the five-day event offers a dynamic program of conversations, book launches, author meet-and-greets, and discussions dedicated to contemporary literature.

The festival is organized in partnership with Rajićeva Shopping Center, transforming one of the city’s most vibrant destinations into a meeting place for books and people.

The program features a distinguished lineup of Serbian and international authors, including Jonas Lüscher and Ana Merino, alongside prominent regional writers and artists. Visitors can enjoy literary conversations, exclusive book previews, author talks, and thematic events that connect literature with contemporary culture and everyday life.

A special highlight of the festival is “From Covers to Feeds,” a program exploring how social media influences reading habits and book recommendations. The festival concludes with a dedicated Children’s Day, featuring a range of activities designed for young readers and families.

More than twenty publishers will take part in the festival, presenting their latest titles, meeting readers, and offering festival discounts of up to 30% on books. Participating publishers include: Ahileja, Arete, Arhipelag, Ave Serbia, Bit Publishing, Booka, Clio, Čarobna knjiga, Dereta, Dokaz, Fedon, Finesa, Ključ Publishing, Kosmos Publishing, Kreativni centar, Lom, Makart, Otvorena knjiga, Pčelica, and Štampar Makarije.

The festival officially opens on Wednesday, May 13, at 10:00 AM, while the main evening author events will take place daily at 6:30 PM and 8:00 PM.

For five days, Rajićeva Shopping Center becomes a vibrant literary stage in the heart of Belgrade—a place where books and people come together.

CITY READS – BOOK LOOK 2026 is conceived as an open cultural platform that brings books back into the city and closer to its people through meaningful encounters between authors and readers.

Admission to all festival events is free.
