Cancer Influencer Nastasja Nedimović
I am a mother of two, Nia and Vuk, and the wife of Nemanja, whose unconditional support, along with that of my entire family, made this story possible.
I have always been passionate about sports. I am a former water polo player and water polo referee, and I hold a degree in Sports and Tourism Management from Novi Sad.
Nastasja’s Story
At the age of 27, during my second pregnancy, I was diagnosed with an incurable chronic form of bone marrow cancer. I gave birth to my son Vuk two months prematurely, and thankfully, he was born healthy.
My journey also included losing the ability to walk, fractures of two vertebrae, my sternum and ribs, and learning to walk again. I underwent five cycles of chemotherapy followed by a bone marrow transplant. I have been in remission ever since.
From the moment I received my diagnosis, I completely changed my lifestyle. One of the most significant changes was the way I eat. I eliminated sugar and artificial sweeteners, additives, artificial flavors, meat, white flour and processed foods from my diet. I continue to eat this way today, while constantly learning more about nutrition and healthy living.
I believe that changing my diet played a major role in my recovery and in bringing my disease under control. Driven by a strong desire to share this approach to nutrition, as well as a healthier and more mindful way of living, with others, I created my Instagram page, @cancer.influencer, as well as the books Imunomania, Smoothiemania, and now Imunomania 2.
Through my work, I share healthy ideas and recipes designed to help you build new, healthier habits, support your overall well-being, and take a more proactive approach to your health.
