Ubrzani tempo života, tehnologija, spoljašnji komfor i udobnost rastu, ali iznutra, duboko u nama, sasvim drugačiji osećaj. Umesto sreće i zadovoljstva javljaju se napetost i uznemirenost. Umesto sigurnosti i poverenja – strah. Zdravo takmičenje zamenila je bolesna ambicija. Od stresa ne možemo da pobegnemo, ali ono što možemo da uradimo jeste da povećamo našu fleksibilnost mentalnu i fizičku i samim tim reakciju na stres.

Savremena medicina tvrdi da je većina bolesti psihosomatskog porekla, dakle velikim delom uzrokovana stresom. To su bolesti koje se odražavaju na telo, ali je njihov uzrok psihološkog karaktera npr. nesanica, napadi panike, glavobolje, bolovi u želucu, psorijaza, alergije, visok krvni pritisak itd.. Pitanje stresa je pitanje elastičnosti naše fiziologije. Napet čovek nije elastičan, nije u ravnoteži.

Cilj joge je da razvije svesnost i unese ravnotežu u život. Ona nas uči kako da najbolje iskoristimo trenutne okolnosti i živimo u skladu sa sopstvenim mogućnostima i svetom koji nas okružuje.

Vežbe joga položaja i joga disanja jačaju mišićno i koštano tkivo, pomažu održavanju zdravog kičmenog stuba, uravnotežuju funkcije metaboličkog, imunog i nervnog sistema, poboljšavaju cirkulaciju svih telesnih sokova, povoljno deluju na disajni, probavni i urogenitalni sistem. Takođe, neutrališu umor, napetost i stres, unapređujući mentalno zdravlje. Dobrobiti joge su beskrajne. Ona savršeno odgovara svakom načinu života – i istočnom i zapadnom, a ljudi svih uzrasta i životnih opredeljenja mogu uživati u ovim predivnim vežbama.

Vežbe joge se rade na početku lagano prateći granice svoga tela. Važno je da vežbamo ispravno i usklađeno sa disanjem. Pravilno disanje u jogi je izuzetno važno. Takođe i pažnja mora da bude prisutna, jer te tri stvari čine jedinstvo tj. JOGU. Pravilan joga položaj, pravilno disanje i pažnja dok vežbamo. To je i odličan način vežbanja jer se nikada nećemo povrediti. Upravo i zbog toga u jogi nemamo starosne granice. Ukoliko postoje posebne okolnosti vezano za naše stanje fiziologije primenićemo terapeutsku jogu, ukoliko dugo sedimo na poslu primenićemo Office yogu ili jogu na stolici, ukoliko želimo mnogo dublje da uđemo u jogu upisaćemo školu joge Maya. Danas je sve to dostupno i lako.

Lično, više volim individualni pristup. Kreira se čas samo za pojedinca u odnosu na njegove godine, stanje fiziologije, disanje. Jednom kada se čas iskreira važno je da pojedinac redovno, svakoga dana radi kod kuće. Pored joga vežbi daju se tehnike disanja i tehnike opuštanja kao i meditacije.

Podignimo životnu energiju, dišimo pravilno, održavajmo našu kičmu zdravom. Podmladimo se i radujmo se životu kroz JOGU.

Osnivač je Holističke akademije Maya i direktor Škole za joga učitelje Holističke akademije Maya.

Pokrenula je časopis Yoga & Fitness. Izdala dve knjige i dva DVD-a o jogi. Dugogodišnji je saradnik mnogih časopisa, radio i TV emisija na RTS-u, B92, Pink-u, RTV-u itd. Učestvuje kao predavač na različitim seminarima.

 Awaken life’s energy through Yoga

 The accelerated pace of life, technology, outward comfort and commodity all grow, but inside, deep within us, a completely different feeling. Instead of happiness and pleasure, tension and anxiety occur. Instead of security and trust – fear. A healthy competition was replaced by a sick ambition. We cannot escape from stress, but what we can do is increase our flexibility both mentally and physically and therefore respond to stress.

Modern medicine claims that most diseases are psychosomatic in origin, therefore largely caused by stress. These are diseases that affect the body, but their cause is psychological in nature, such as insomnia, panic attacks, headaches, stomach pains, psoriasis, allergies, high blood pressure, etc. The issue of stress is a matter of elasticity in our physiology. Tense man is not resilient, not in balance.

The goal of yoga is to develop awareness and bring balance to life. It teaches us how to make the most of our current circumstances and live in accordance with our own capabilities and the world around us.

Yoga postures and breathing exercises strengthen the muscle and bone tissue, help maintain a healthy spinal column, balance the functions of the metabolic, immune and nervous systems, improve the circulation of all body juices, have a beneficial effect on the respiratory, digestive and urogenital systems. They also counteract fatigue, tension and stress, improving mental health. The benefits of yoga are endless. It fits perfectly into any lifestyle – both Eastern and Western, and people of all ages and life choices can enjoy these wonderful exercises.

Yoga exercises are initially done by lightly following the boundaries of your body. It is important that we exercise properly and in sync with our breathing. Proper breathing in yoga is extremely important. Also, attention must be present, because these three things make unity, make YOGA. Proper yoga posture, proper breathing and mindfulness while exercising. It is also a great way to exercise because we will never get hurt. This is why we have no age limits in yoga. If there are special circumstances related to our state of physiology, we will apply therapeutic yoga, if we are sitting at work for a long time, we will apply office yoga or chair yoga, if we want to go deeper into yoga we will enroll in Maya yoga school. Today, all of this is accessible and easy.

Personally, I prefer the individual approach. An hour is created only for the individual in relation to his age, state of physiology, breathing. Once the time is up, it is important for the individual to work at home regularly. In addition to yoga exercises, breathing and relaxation techniques as well as meditation are given.

Let’s raise our energy, breathe properly, keep our spine healthy. Let us rejuvenate and rejoice in life through YOGA.

Maja is a certified yoga and meditation teacher and representative for Serbia – European Yoga Federation and World Movement for Yoga and Ayurveda. She is the founder of the Maya Holistic Academy and the director of the Maya Holistic Academy for Yoga Teachers.

She started Yoga & Fitness magazine. She has published two books and two DVDs on yoga. She is a longtime contributor to many magazines, radio and TV shows on RTS, B92, Pink, RTV, etc. She participates as a lecturer in various seminars and has designed her therapeutic and individual approach to yoga for each individual.
